THE BOROUGH BARISTA
The Borough Barista is a great cafe run by the dynamic duo Tim Bloxsome and Jordi Mestre. As the area is slightly bereft of high quality coffee, The Borough Barista has become a very popular spot for local coffee lovers.
Situated a few minutes walk from Marble Arch, you can either enjoy your coffee in the shop itself or take it with you on a nice stroll around Hyde Park.
I chose a double macchiato Bewley’s blend. I had never heard about the roastery before so it was nice to try some new coffee. Bewley’s are based in Ireland and I hope to see them stocked in more coffee shops around London as they roast some really good stuff!
I spent a few hours at the coffee shop and when I went to grab a bite to eat, I noticed they were offering decaffeinated beans from Caravan. I generally don’t try decaf coffee that much but when I saw it was from Caravan, I couldn’t give it a miss.
The majority of decaf I have had in the past has been pretty average so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was! The manager, Tim, kindly took a few minutes to talk me through the flavour notes of the coffee and gave me a bit more info on the world of decaf.
It’s this kind of personal service combined with great quality coffee that makes The Borough Barista very special and is sure to keep the people in the surrounding area very happy.
