LIBERTY OF NORTON FOLGATE
All the history buffs out there will no doubt be familiar with the connotations of the Liberty of Norton Folgate. I myself thought it was a reference to one of the latest Madness albums, but their website confirmed that it alludes to the history of the area.
Knowing it was a member of the Coffeesmiths Collective, my expectations were high on arrival. These expectations were certainly surpassed.
A very friendly Barista brought me a glass of water and took my order (There are specific ‘take out’ and ‘drink in’ sections in the coffee shop). He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly – characteristics which are common among baristas in London’s best coffee shops and never fail to put a smile on my face.
They have a tasty Climpson & Sons house blend, accompanied by a guest blend which rotates every 10 days. This gives Liberty regulars the luxury of exposure to many different coffee blends that are hand picked by the shop.
PS Liberty of Norton Folgate could potentially be the longest coffee shop in London.
