FOXCROFT AND GINGER, THE QUIRKY CAFE AMONGST BERWICK MARKET
If I could describe Foxcroft & Ginger in one word that word would be: Different. Foxcroft and Ginger is different in all senses of the word. The staff are massive foodies who strive to “…awaken the senses and offer an alternative to the ‘everyday lunch'”.
To accompany their delcicious food they have great coffee from Climpson & Sons, one of my favourite roasters.
Their use of vintage crockery means it’s always a nice surprise to see what vessel your coffee arrives in (It’s the small things ;)).
Idiosyncrasies aside, the centrepiece is the seating area below. As you walk down the stairs, you enter a colourful and vibrant room. There’s a fairly random array of furniture with a big Union Jack draped down one of the walls, topped off by some old gym vaults serving as tables on the left. A winning combo.
