Damson Cafe is a very cute cafe, just a few minute’s walk away from Tottenham Court Road. With Flatcap St Giles also very close by, locals are spoilt rotten for great quality coffee shops in the area.
I spoke to the manager Hester, who told me a little bit of the background of Damson. Owner Mike always dreamed of opening a cafe serving great coffee and delicious healthy food. With this dual objective in mind, Damson Cafe was conceived.
The Square Mile (house blend) espresso I had was extremely tasty. It had a strong hint of cranberry and was almost fizzy in my mouth. As I’d just had my lunch, I had to resist all the tasty salads and sandwiches on offer, which was hard, as they were teasing me from the counter! Bar the bread and pastries, all the food is made on site and is much more flavorsome than your average coffee shop.
It was freezing when I popped by, so I was very grateful for such a nice space to chill out and read my book. For such a central location, the place has a very calming influence.
Damson Cafe recently celebrated its first birthday and its popularity comes as no surprise.
