COOPER AND WOLF
Cooper and Wolf, run by a half British, half Swedish couple serves great coffee and great Swedish cuisine. Unfortunately, they weren’t in when I visited but the barista, Aliki told me all about the shop and what it sets out to achieve.
I didn’t try the fantastic Scandinavian cuisine on offer but opted for an espresso. Aliki is half Greek and half Kiwi so I immediately sensed that she would know how to pull a good shot of espresso. I wasn’t wrong. Cooper and Wolf use the Caravan Market Blend and the espresso was sweet and very chocolatey.
Like 46b Espresso Hut, they take a firm interest in sourcing local goods and the cakes all came from from a local lady called Lizzy. Cooper and Wolf has become a local hub in the area. As you leave you can see many pin ups on display including local artists, activities and clubs in and around Clapton & Homerton. Currently, they’re exhibiting a local artist’s work on the right hand side of the shop in the far corner. It’s these kind of things that make it a special place to the local community.
Approaching its 1st birthday this June, Cooper and Wolf has certainly made an impact in the area in the short period it’s been there. Go in to see why.
